I am a retired high school teacher with a Masters in Education degree.  Little did I know that with that degree I could teach university, and so from August 2013-May 2014 I trained Liberian student teachers at African Bible College University (ABCU) in Yekepa how to teach reading, writing, and English Literature.

My students were bright, hard-working and their oral retention was outstanding.  I loved teaching them!

I was to return to Yekepa for a second year of teaching, but 2 weeks before I was to depart, the Ebola outbreak escalated in Liberia, and British Airways cancelled all flights.  Schools were ordered closed in order to stop the spread of the deadly virus.  ABCU was closed and the academic year postponed.

While I am sidelined, I cannot sit and do nothing for Liberia, and so I began this blog to advocate for more help.

If you are an advocate also, thank you, and if not, I hope you will soon become one.
